Welcome to AstroSakhi, an AI astrology app. This Privacy Policy
explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the
app you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Phone number — collected during sign-in via OTP. Used only for authentication.
- Birth details — your date of birth, time of birth (if you know it), and
place of birth (the city you pick, and its coordinates). These are used to compute your Vedic
astrology chart (kundli). This is the core data the app is built around; if you leave the time
of birth unknown, we assume noon and your chart's house-based readings are treated as
approximate. We do not read your device's GPS or physical location at any time.
- Name and profile details — your name, and optionally your gender,
profession and relationship status, so your sakhi can address you personally and read for
your situation.
- Birth details of other people — if you use compatibility matching or add a
friend, the birth details you type in for that person are stored on your account.
- Chat messages — the questions you send and the readings you receive are
stored to power responses and keep your conversation history.
- Menstrual cycle information (optional) — if you use the cycle feature, we
store your period start dates, your average cycle and period length, and any symptoms you log.
This is health data. It is entirely optional, it is used only to show your own predictions and
to let your sakhi read for how you are feeling, and it is never shared with anyone or used for
advertising. Skipping the feature means we never collect it, and deleting your account deletes it.
- Voice recordings (optional) — if you place a voice call to a sakhi, the
audio of what you say is sent to our server and on to our speech provider so it can be turned
into text. We do not store the audio — it is held in memory only for as long
as the turn takes. The resulting transcript is kept as part of your chat history.
- Payment information — coin purchases are processed by Google Play Billing.
We never see or store your card or UPI details. We do keep a record of your purchases and your
coin balance so we can credit them and resolve billing problems.
- Device and app data — a push-notification token, a device identifier,
your Android ID, device model, OS version, app version, language and time zone, and the Play
install-referrer (including any campaign parameters that brought you to the app). Used to send
your notifications, to keep one account working across reinstalls, to prevent abuse, and to
understand how the app is used.
- Analytics and crash data — which screens you open and which features you
use, plus error and crash reports, so we can find and fix problems. Google Analytics for
Firebase is used for this and may access your device's advertising ID. We do not run ads in
AstroSakhi and we do not use this data to target you with advertising.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To compute your astrology chart and generate personalised readings.
- To process coin purchases and paid reports, and maintain your balance.
- To send you notifications you opt into (daily horoscope, remedy check-ins).
- To keep your account working across devices and reinstalls.
- To measure how the app is used and to fix crashes and errors.
- To prevent fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own
purposes — including advertising. The companies listed in section 4 process data only on our
instructions, to deliver the parts of the app they power. Your health information and your
chat messages are never used for advertising or marketing of any kind.
3. Your Sakhis Are AI
Every "sakhi" (astrologer persona) on AstroSakhi is an AI persona, not a real
person. They are not human astrologers and hold no professional credentials. The
readings are generated by artificial intelligence interpreting your computed chart. AstroSakhi
is for guidance and reflection — it is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or
financial advice.
4. Third-Party Services
These providers process data on our behalf so the app can work. None of them receive your
data for their own purposes.
- AstrologyAPI.com — receives your birth details (date, time, coordinates)
to compute your chart, kundli image, matching, and daily prediction. It does not receive your
name, phone number, or chat messages.
- xAI (Grok) — generates the AI readings. Your questions and the relevant
computed chart facts are processed by xAI's API. Privacy policy →
- Sarvam AI — converts your voice-call audio to text and generates the
sakhi's spoken reply. It receives the call audio; it does not receive your name or phone

- Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and Google Analytics for

5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers in the asia-south1 (Mumbai)
region, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to your authenticated
account; other users cannot read your data.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account data, chart, and history for as long as your account is active. If you
delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days (see our
account deletion page).
7. Age
AstroSakhi is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly
collect data from anyone under 18, and will delete such data if we become aware of it.
8. Your Rights
- Request a copy of your data.
- Delete your account and data — in-app from your Profile, or by emailing us.
- Turn off notifications any time from your device settings.

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will note significant changes in the app.
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
